Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study is to examine sibling bullying in adolescents in terms of various variables. Since the sibling bullying levels of the adolescents participating in the research differed according to their demographic characteristics, the research process was carried out in accordance with the relational screening model. The participants of the study are 322 adolescents aged 14-18 in Mersin province. Of the participants determined by the snowball sampling method, 160 were female and 162 were male. Sibling bullying scale, personal information form created by the researcher and parent consent form were used to collect the research data. The collected data were analyzed with SPSS 25.00. In the analyses, t-test for Independent Samples and One-Way ANOVA test were used from parametric tests. As a result, when the bullying sub-dimension scores were analyzed by gender, it was concluded that male adolescents were bullied more than female adolescents. Victimization sub-dimension was found to be higher in female adolescents than male adolescents. No significant difference was found between sibling bullying and the age variable. Adolescents whose mothers did not work were found to have higher sibling bullying, bullying and victimization sub-dimension scores. Bullying sub-dimension scores were found to be higher in adolescents whose fathers did not work. When the levels of sibling bullying were examined according to the district where the participants lived, the bullying sub-dimension scores of the adolescents living in Akdeniz district were higher, while the victimization sub-dimension scores of the adolescents living in the Toroslar district were found to be higher. There was no significant difference between sibling bullying and the grade level of the adolescents. While the victimization sub-dimension score of the adolescents whose mother and father education level was primary school was higher, there was no significant difference between the bullying sub-dimension and the education level of the parents. When sibling bullying was analyzed according to the number of siblings of the participants, the victimization sub-dimension score of the adolescents with 3 siblings was higher, while the bullying sub-dimension of the adolescents with 2 siblings was higher. Adolescents with a small age difference with their siblings had higher victimization sub-dimension scores. No significant difference was found between the sibling age difference of the adolescents and the bullying sub-dimension score. While the victimization sub-dimension score of the siblings with the highest rank in the sibling ranking was higher, there was no significant difference between the sibling rank and the bullying sub-dimension. The mean scores of the victimization sub-dimension were found to be higher for adolescents with low family financial status and broken family type..
