The meaning of life in religious education for adolescents (The example of Düzce imam hatip high schools

The aim of this study is to explain the concept of meaning of life in adolescents and to examine the effect of religious education on the meaningful life of adolescents. Therefore, in accordance with the purpose of the study, the characteristics of adolescents and the effect of religious education on the meaning of adolescents' life were investigated. In order for the study to be efficient, the characteristics of the study group should be known. Therefore, the characteristics of adolescence are discussed. Adolescence problems, adolescence stages, adolescent adolescents' attitudes that affect the life, the search for meaning and meaning of life; The concepts of religious education were examined. The problem of the study was the effect of religious education on the meaning of life of adolescents. In this context, the relationship between religious education and the meaning of life of adolescents was emphasized and it was investigated that religion brought adolescents. The aim of the study is to determine the function of religious education in the meaningful life of adolescents. Qualitative research technique and screening model were used in the study. The sample of the study was determined as Imam Hatip High School in Düzce. This study was carried out on Ömer Seyfettin Akdoğan Girls Anatolian Imam Hatip High School, Tevfik İleri Anatolian Imam Hatip High School in the 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th grades in the spring term of the 2018-2019 academic year. In the spring semester of 2018-2019 academic year, 40 students were interviewed. The results obtained were evaluated and tabulated. 30% of the students said that the meaning of life is religion. 25% of the students in the answers given as a model in the life of Hz. The choice of Muhammad (saas) showed the effect of religious education on adolescents. It has been observed that adherence to the rules of religion creates 77.5% peace among adolescents. Love has been found to have an important place in adolescent's life. From these results, it is possible to say that religious education is effective in making adolescents' meaning of life, model selection and living religious provisions.
