The relationship between adolescents' psychological vulnerability and subjective well-being and attachment styles

The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between adolescents' psychological vulnerability and subjective well-being and attachment styles. The study group consisted of a total of 500 students, 312 female (63.7%) and 178 male (36.3%), from various high schools in Mersin province in the 2022-2023 academic year. "Psychological Vulnerability Scale", 'Life Satisfaction Scale', 'Positive and Negative Affect Scale for Adolescents', 'Relationship Scale Questionnaire' and 'Personal Information Form' were used as data collection tools in the study. The data of the study were analyzed with SPSS 28 program. Pearson Correlation Analysis, t-test for independent groups, One-Way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA), simple linear regression and multiple linear regression analysis methods were used in the analysis of the research. As a result of the analyses, it was concluded that there was a significant negative correlation between psychological vulnerability and subjective well-being, a significant positive correlation between psychological vulnerability and attachment styles, a significant positive correlation between subjective well-being and secure attachment, and a significant negative correlation between subjective well-being and attachment styles. According to multiple linear regression analysis, subjective well-being and attachment styles predict psychological vulnerability. The results obtained were discussed within the framework of the literature and recommendations were made to relevant field experts, future researchers, families and teachers.
