Abstract (EN)
This study aimed to examine the relationship between perceived problemsolving skills and type of anger expressions with regard to gender, social sharing andpsychological symptoms.The sample of the study consisting of 555 adolescents (311 female and 214male) were given ?The Problem Solving Inventory? (Heppner ve Petersen, 1982),?The State-Trait Anger? (Spielberger, 1983), ?The Brief Symptom Inventory?(Derogatis & Lazarus, 1994), ?Social Sharing of Emotions? (researcher) and?Personal Information Form?. After excluding 3 participants due to their unfit data,hierarchical regression analysis was performed with 553 cases.A hierarchical regression model was establish to test the relationshipbetween problem solving and anger expressions by controlling the impact of gender,psychological symptoms and social sharing.The result of the study revealed that the relationship between problemsolving and anger expression was significant over end above gender, psychologicalsymptoms and social sharing. These results suggest that female students who sharetheir emotions and have lesser degree of psychological symptoms are better problemsolvers if they control their anger.Key Words: Problem Solving, Anger, Adolescent
