Balance of obedience and freedom in adolescent religious education

Religious education is initiated in family as first education organization. While it is occurred in ways of record, repetition and identification in childhood periods, in adolescence periods, it is observed some kind of differences. It is required different education methods with respect to fast physical and phycological changes by adolescents. Adolescence having been satisfied by parents in childhood periods, can engage with intellectual efforts by revolving, questioning and criticizing in adolescence periods. It can be compelled parent to accept that offspring desires and efforts of independence and breaking of authority. Therefore, it is difficult to provide balance of obedience and freedom in adolescence religious education. Aim of this study is parent to provide balance of obedience and freedom in adolescence religious education. It is significant for effective and acceptable religious education. In this thesis, literature review, one of the qualitative research techniques, is used. Data is summited by examination the issues and basic concepts related with this issue. The study consists of three parts. In first part, it is presented to basic concept of obedience and freedom balance. Then, characterization of adolescence period in a concept of obedience and freedom balance is investigated in second part. In the third part, obedience and freedom balance in adolescence period is analyzed especially in family. In conclusion, it is proved necessity of obedience and freedom balance providing by parent with respect to physical change in adolescence period. It is promoted fundamental principles for counselling parents and pedagogues about providing obedience and freedom balance.
