Abstract (EN)

The problem between Azerbaijanis and Armenians, who lived together in the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR) for a long time, broke out in the last years of the USSR and turned into a conflict. However, when the background of the Karabakh problem is examined, it is seen that the hostility goes back to ancient times and started with the settlement of Armenians in this geography. The Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict not only adversely affected these two countries, but also had an impact on all countries in the region, including Turkey, and drew them in. In this context, third-party countries have tried to take an active role in the solution of this problem and turn the balance in their favor in order to protect their own interests. The fact that it is important in terms of solving the Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno-Karabakh problem, establishing regional trade relations, eliminating the elements that pose a threat to the security of the region, and ensuring the security of supply of energy resources adds value to the study. In this respect, in the research, "What kind of effect do the third parties have in the resolution process of the Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict?" seeking an answer to the question. At the same time, "Although the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is characterized as a conflict between the two countries (Azerbaijan and Armenia), its sphere of influence is larger and has the potential to change the geopolitical balance", "OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs, which were created to solve the problem, could not maintain their neutrality as mediators", "Turkey Azerbaijan Arguments have been determined such as "It has made the Russian Federation refrain from directly intervening in the conflict with its support for both political and military weapons". Evaluation was made in the context of conflict resolution methods. Qualitative research method was used in the study. In order to answer the research question and understand the problem better, the background of the conflict was examined in the study and the conflict resolution methods applied in the solution of this problem were discussed. In the last section, the attitude of Turkey in terms of the Karabakh problem, what kind of policy it follows and how it affects the solution of the problem are examined.
