Abstract (EN)
Increasing the sugar yield obtained from sugar beet is one of the main elements of production. High root-stem yield and sugar ratio in sugar beet means high sugar yield. This research was established and conducted in Pishkidag Village of Üzümlü district of Erzincan province in 2022 according to the randomized block design in order to determine the yield and quality characteristics of some sugar beet varieties. Ten different sugar beet varieties (Serenada, Lider, Mohican, Terranova, Aranka, Turbata, Bernache, Setenil, Tisserin and Chevalier) were used in the study. According to the results obtained in the research, the highest leaf yield was Mohican (3284,0 kg) and Serenada (3251,9 kg), the highest root-stem yield was Serenada (10824,0 kg), the highest tuber length was Serenada (31, 13 cm), Lider (30.60 cm) and Mohican (30.20 cm); highest tuber diameter Aranka (15.47 cm), Chevalier (15.40 cm) and Serenada (15.07 cm); highest number of leaves Mohican (46,60 pcs); highest harvest index Lider (85.33%); highest ash percentage Aranka (3.91%); highest brix value Tisserin and Chevalier (20.47%); highest Digestion value Chevalier (16.28%); lowest alpha amino nitrogen content Terranova and Lider (0.029%); the highest sugar yield was obtained from Serenada (1883,9 kg) and Chevalier (1920,2 kg); the highest polar ratio was obtained from Chevalier (18,12%), Lider (17,93%), Bernache (17,72%) and Tisserin (17,59%) sugar beet varieties. As a result of these results obtained in the research, NZ sugar beet type, which has the highest value in terms of root-stem and sugar yield, can be recommended to be grown in Erzincan province and regions that provide similar climatic conditions.
