Kaza of Milas according to Ahkâm Defterleri of Erzurum (H. 1155-1324/ M. 1742-1809)

Ottoman Empire emphasized justice in its administration throughout history, which strengthened the legislative system. Ahkâm defterleri (Verdict Registries) is an essencial source on Social-Economial-Administrative structure on Ottoman Empire, since its creation in 1742. In this thesis, the provisions related to the Kaza of Milas were chronologically transcribed in the Erzurum Ahkâm Registers between the numbers 1 and 10 and topics were categorized according ro Social-Economic lifestyle. These provisions summarised in tables. Thesis; consists of introduction, three main parts, conclusion and appendices. In the first part, information about the books kept in "Divan-ı Hümayun" is given and information about Erzurum, which has an important place for the thesis, is given. In the second part, information about Kaza of Milas was given and the main part of the thesis was passed. In addition to the provisions used as primary sources by categorizing, this section was supported by research works. In the last part, the transcripted provisions were summarized and the information obtained were tabulated. With the thesis study, it is aimed to contribute to the studies carried out in the fields such as political, social, economic and administrative about Kaza of Milas between the specified dates.
