Abstract (EN)
Tile, stone and brick decoration art which has an important place for traditional Turkish arts, rich patterns and compositions are the important elements used in architectural ornaments. One of the best examples of this; Erzurum Double Minaret Madrasah, which is one of our cultural values, is one of the most important architectural works of Turkish Art. It is also known as Hatuniye madrasah. The madrasa, which has become the symbol of Erzurum province, has two magnificent minarets covered with tile mosaic and brick decoration. The madrasah is a Seljuk work in terms of the period it was built and the ornament elements it contains. This architecture, which has a rectangular structure, is one of the most important madrasahs of the two-storey, open courtyard and four-iwan madrasah structure in Anatolia. Since the madrasa does not have an inscription, it is accepted that it was built at the end of the 13th century. In this research, it is aimed to determine the tile, stone and brick ornaments on the facades, minarets, courtyards and vaults of the Erzurum Double Minaret Madrasah, to photograph, draw and draw the pattern compositions and to catalog the work analysis. In the thesis study, firstly library, internet resources and on-site research started, followed by the examination of the tile, stone and brick decoration of Erzurum Double Minaret Madrasah, photographs of motif and pattern compositions and drawings. It is aimed to document the decoration of the Double Minaret Madrasah used in the architecture and to catalog it, to preserve our cultural heritage, to use it in many different fields and to transfer this art to new generations.
