The research sample aiming at performance of erzurum men's folk dances in melodic, rhythmic and motional integrity

One of the most important elements in our rich and rooted culture is Turkish Folk Dances. Turkey has a prominent place in world culture with its folk dances repertoire. In this rich structure, Erzurum Men's Bars have their unique importance and value in Turkish Folk dances with their movements, rhythm and melody elements which are peculiar to them. The aim of this research is to examine the movements, rhythm and melody in integrity belonging to Erzurum Men's Bars in Turkish Folk Dances and also record these items beloging to our culture. In this research, exploratory sequential pattern in mixed method research drafts has been used. In qualitative aspect of research the method of examining documents has been used and one group pretest-posttest experimental design has been used in quantitative aspect. In the research, 18 Erzurum Men's Bars have been identified. Classification of movements in these bars have been made thanks to investigations in anatomy. The rhythm structures which accompany the movements, have been written in drum notation with the consideration of regional playing techniques. In order to identify melody, rhythm and movements elements related to Erzurum Men's Bar with each other, the partitions have been formed in an integrity. It has been concluded that the melody, rhythm and motion flow of musical notation having been prepared for Erzurum Men's Bar, are applicable. Statistical difference between points is in favour of post test as a result of experimental study between pre- test and post-test.
