Green beans production and marketing economy in Erzurum

Abstract (EN)

In the study, it was aimed to determine the cost elements in the production of fresh beans in Erzurum province, to calculate the production of fresh beans and the market cost. For this purpose, a questionnaire was conducted in 100 farms that produce fresh beans in 5 provinces of Erzurum Province (İspir, Uzundere, Tortum, Pasinler and Oltu). Survey data includes the production year of 2015. In the study area, the average land ownership is 31.20 decares, the average land size is 39.39 decares, the average number of parcels is 5.65 piece and the average parcel size of the property is 5.52 decares. The average family population was 3.42 persons and the average family labor force was 2.00 MBU. In the average of the study area, the sum of variable costs is 735.13 ₺/da, the sum of fixed costs is 112.90 ₺/da and the cost of production is 848.03 ₺/da. The fresh bean yield was calculated as 1 552.86 kg/da in the average area and the production cost of 1 kg fresh beans was calculated as 0.546 ₺ on average. The ratio of profit to production cost is determined as 3.44 in the region average. In the average area, the groos production value is 2 919.38 ₺/de. It is estimated that a net profit of 2 071.34 ₺/de and a gross profit of 2 184.25 ₺/de are calculated when the sum of production costs is taken into consideration. The sum of the market costs of fresh beans is 928.19 ₺/de. The market cost of 1 kg fresh beans was calculated as 0.598 ₺ on average. According to the market cost, the proportional profit is 3.14 in the average of the region. When the sum of the market costs is taken into account, it is estimated that the average net profit is 1 991.18 ₺/de and 2 104.09 ₺/de gross profit.
