Abstract (EN)
Depending on the earthquake loads on the soils interacting with water, unfavorable cases such as settlement, collapse or liquefaction can occur. In this study the liquefaction analyzes of the Aziziye, Palandöken and Yakutiye districts which constitute the central districts of Erzurum were carried out. Within the scope of the study, the liquefaction potentials of the soils in areas where construction has shown an accelerated increase in recent years and groundwater levels are high, have been determined and liquefaction intensity maps have been prepared. Erzurum city center is located in the second degree earthquake zone. There are many active fault lines around the city center. Erzurum central districts are close to these fault lines and have the potential to be highly affected by a possible earthquake. In the first phase of this master thesis study, which was planned in four phases, engineering properties of soils in the study area were determined with the help of SPT experiment data. In the second phase, scenario earthquakes are described which represent potential earthquakes that may occur by examining the seismic activity of the study area. In the third phase, Seed and Idriss (1971), Tokimatsu and Yoshimi (1983) and Iwasaki et al. (1981) were used to analyze the liquefaction of soils. At the last phase of the study, the liquefaction potential maps of Aziziye, Palandöken and Yakutiye districts soils were prepared under different earthquake effects.
