Abstract (EN)

Discharging the wastewater, resulting from the activities of textile industry, into the receiving environment is one of the foremost environmental problems affecting the Health of humans and other species. Textile dye, which can accumulate in the existing environment, can show toxic effects for bio life. 'Malachite Green', textile dye severely used in our country, is included in triphenylmethane dye group and it is cytotoxic (having toxic impact on cell and kill it or cease its function) a substance for bio life and living tissues. In this study; laterite, very economical material, which can be found in Erzurum-Oltu catchment area naturally, is getting examined as adsorbent in order aqueous medium to be naturalized from 'Malachite Green' which is admitted as a reference in terms of pollution of textile industry wastewater. Furthermore, the impact of parameters such as 'period of contact, pH, absorbent quantity, temperature' in terms of laterite upon adsorption. Consistency of adsorption isotherms have been examined under favour of adsorption test data in the interest of adsorption systems, and it has been identified that it is appropriate for Freundlich model. Moreover, by the help of adsorption data, several thermodynamic dimension such as ΔG°, ΔH° and ΔS°, have been calculated. Consequently, it has been observed that laterite adsorbability competence is considerably high.
