Abstract (EN)

An investigation of dietary habits, eating attitudes and behaviors in living individuals in Erzurum Aim: This study was planned and conducted with the aim of determining the attitudes and behaviors towards eating habits of the individuals living in Erzurum province with the concept of healthy eating. Material and Methods: Face to face with a total of 982 volunteers, 482 men and 500 women living in the Palandöken and Yakutiye districts in the center of Erzurum province. Participants were asked about sex, age, boy, weight, body mass index, marital status, income status, education status, sporting status, smoking and alcohol use status. In addition, in this survey study; The number of daily meals, breakfast situations, attention to food intake and consumption, and the frequency of consumption of certain foods and beverages. The obtained data were evaluated in SPSS 20.0 statistical package program. Results: As a result of the research, it was determined that the majority of male participants were married 62.2% and of womens were single and 51.2% respectively. It was determined that the majority of the participants had income levels of 2000-3000₺. It has been determined that the most important foods for men and women are breakfast, men have a high smoking rate (%70.7), women have low alcohol consumption (%9.8), bread (%75.7), cheese (%78.0) and tea (%89.0) are the most consumed foods. It has been found that male participants pay more attention to the economy of the product and women pay attention to the taste of the product. Conclusion: Participants in our study found that some foods (eg milk, fruit) were inadequate, while some foods (eg bread, cheese, pasta, tea) were consumed in large quantities. For this reason, participants need to be informed about adequate and balanced nutrition by organizing training programs as they need to be aware of nutrition. Plan and policies should be prepared for this and correct information about healthy nutrition should be provided and awareness should be tried to be established.
