Abstract (EN)

The Mother Goddess Kybele from the prehistoric period to the present day is the most important and oldest Goddess of Anatolia. Fertility and nutritional qualities of nature have been expressed with it and in time, it has gained the quality of being a source of abundance, productivity and product. The mother goddess cult, which has its roots in Central Anatolia and known as Kubileya, Matar or Meter, left its place to Kybele in later times in Greek and Roman civilizations. The Mother Goddess Meter or Magna Mater cult, which constitutes the main subject of the thesis, spread throughout Anatolia especially during the Phrygians period and showed itself in art works or coins minted in the minted houses of the period. In the first part of the study, information about the Mother Goddess cult from the Neolithic period to the Roman period is given. The second part constitutes the main part of the study. In this section, a catalog of coins minted using the Mother Goddess Meter figure is presented. In this catalog consisting of 59 coins in total, there are coins belonging to the Hellenistic Period and Roman Period found in Bithynia, Phrygia, Ionia, Cilicia, Caria, Lydia, Lycia, Mysia, Galatia and Pamphylia regions.
