Request function in Old Anatolian Turkish

In the classification of suffixes of the Turkish language, adjective verbs, which are subtypes of verbals, have been one of the subjects that have been emphasized for a long time in linguistic activities. Although the adjective verb category is one of the areas of interest of many linguists, the position of these suffixes in Turkish grammar continues to constitute the source of ongoing discussions and studies. The functions of adjective verbs depending on the context in the sentence have been discussed in various aspects in many previous studies, but it is a subject that needs to be continued. "Request", one of the functions of adjective verbs, appears frequently in the texts of every period without exception, with various morphemes or in the form that is not pronounced but its functions are preserved. However, this function has not yet been freed from its designation as subjunctive mood, which is accepted by many linguists in the field. As a matter of fact, this state of necessity paved the way for the idea of our study. In this study, subjunctive adjective verbs are explained with examples taken from Old Anatolian Turkish and various works of this period in order to determine the boundaries of the subject, and the validity of the approaches accepted in the established linguistic culture are questioned.
