Abstract (EN)

The number of studies on the meaning unit that exists in the wide and rich word world of Turkish is increasing day by day. Determining the boundaries of this unit of meaning, which is also called concept area, is important in terms of determining how rich Turkish is in terms of vocabulary and breadth of meaning. Organ names, which make a great contribution to the vocabulary, fulfill many meanings according to the context other than the basic meaning. This science is called semantics. Aksan (2021) explains semantics as "the science that studies the meaning aspect of language". In this study, 8 works, namely; Garibnâme of Âşık Paşa, Süheyl ü Nev-bahâr translated from Persian into Turkish by Hoca Mesûd and İzzeddin Ahmed, Varka and Gülşah of Yûsuf-ı Meddâh, Dede Korkut's Dresden copy, Divan of Fâtih belonging to Sultan Mehmed II, Divan of Fuzûlî, Divan of Bâkî Dîvânı and Divan of Ahmed-i Dâ'î were scanned. During the scanning, no transcription work was done for the aforementioned works, and the scanning was carried out based on the transcription studies on these works. In these works we scanned, the usage areas of human and animal organ names were determined. It is noteworthy that the organ names we identified as a result of our study gained new meanings in polysemy without losing the basic meaning of the indicator. We have tried to determine the usage areas of the organ names that we have identified as a result of the scanning, apart from their basic meaning, including connotation, figurative meaning and idiom meaning. We have determined the meanings of some organ names in stereotypes such as proverbs and idioms. Thus, we have revealed the changes and expansions in the meaning of organ names from past to present.
