Abstract (EN)
One One of the most significant civilizations inherited from historical ages is undoubtedly the Ancient Egyptian Civilization. Since Egypt is geographically covered with deserts, it has not been invaded and has had a long life. This deep-rooted civilization, dating back to 3100 BC, has hosted more than thirty lineages. The establishment of religion and belief was highly developed in ancient Egypt. It is not true that the ancient Egyptian religion was polytheistic, but we can express that it was sometimes monotheistic and sometimes believed in the existence of more than one god and accepted only one. Thanks to this understanding, a wide pantheon of gods was formed. On the other hand, the pharaohs, who were the king of Egypt, believed that they would turn into gods after death. From this point of view, we can think that the pharaohs were god-kings. On the other hand, we learn from the sources that the subjects also had the belief in the hereafter, which is the life after death. Especially Egyptians, who visited the tombs of their deceased ancestors, presented them with valuable items and jewels. Egyptian society respected these deities, some of which were local and some general, and even regarded them as the level of deification. That is why the Egyptian people were very religious and conservative. In this study, we will discuss this complex belief system of Egypt in detail. Our thesis study consists of three main parts. In Chapter I, the historical geography of Egypt and its effects on political life are discussed. In chapter II, information on Egyptian political history is presented. In Chapter III, which is the last one, comprehensive information on the subject is presented by focusing on the reflections of Ancient Egyptian beliefs on society. In our research, by examining the works of local and foreign researchers as far as we can reach, an original study has been tried to be presented following the method of the science of history and with emphasis on previously untouched subjects. It is aimed to consolidate the information by using photographs and maps where deemed necessary in the text. Keywords: Ancient: Egypt, God, Hereafter, Religion, Pharaoh
