Abstract (EN)

Among the historical Turkish dialects, the second phase of Turkish, after Köktürk, from which we have texts, is the Old Uyghur Turkish period. It is possible to find examples of this literature between 9th and 13th centuries. We inherited many written products from the Uyghurs. This study consists of folklore texts containing folk beliefs and pratices of Old Uyghur Turkish. These are texts about lucky and unlucky times, nail cutting and hair washing days, sneezing, mouse bites, lightning strikes, dreams, healing, vein interpretations and twitches, respectively. These texts contain the trans-material attitudes of Turks in social life. In the study, it was tried to reveal whether the folk beliefs and practices of the Uyghurs continued in later periods. This statement is significant for the continuity of Turkish cultural history. The study consists of input, text, rewiew and index sections. In the input section, first the subject, importance, purpose and method of the research are mentioned. In the following, imformation is given about Uyghurs, Old Uyghur Turkish and the works of this literature. In the text section, explanations of the text realed to folk beliefs in the Alttürkische Handscriften Teil 17 and Serendia Collection are included. The texts were translated into today's Turkish through letter and script translations. Then the texts were divided into groups according to their topics. In the rewiew section, translated manuscripts and works from the periods after Uyghur were compared within the framework of folk beliefs. In the index section, a grammatical index of the texts examined was created, the words were given meaning and given with their line numbers. We hope that it will the contribute to the science of Turkishness. Key words: Old Uyghur Turkish, Prophecy, Belief.
