Old Uighur Kuansi im Pusar examination text- translation- explanations- glossary

This study consisted of Text, Translation, Explanation and Glossary sections on the work called Old Uighur Kuansi im Pusar is based on the original Chinese version of a work belonging to Mahāyāna Buddhism known as Saddharmapuṇḍarīka-sūtra in Sanskrit. One of the most significant reasons for why this particular work has been studied is to constitute a text to be compared with Chinese and to emphasize the words or word groups craving for explanation. The work was studied carefully by preserving its integrity with text in Chinese and Uighur languages. Therefore, Explanation section was elaborated in details for the sake of offering more reliable and correct information. The method used varies in line with the purpose and it has become necessary to make more researches on the Chinese text and its explanations. As a result, its translations in other languages and articles on it were carefully scanned to be used for guiding purposes in the process of transmission. This work is consisted of six sections (Introduction, Text, Translation, Explanations, Index, and Conclusion). It begins with the Introduction offering an outline of Kuanşi im Pusar. This section provides brief information on the period the work belongs to as well as the features of that period and the studies on the work. Transcript of the work consisted of 224 lines are followed by Translation and Explanations section. This section proves an effort to be loyal to its original Chinese version in order to understand the work better and a number of words or word groups craving for explanations were emphasized. Following an index from Uighur to Chinese, an index from Chinese to Uighur was prepared and the study was concluded with a bibliography. This study showed once more how important it is to stick to Chinese original version of a text while dealing with text analysis.
