Abstract (EN)
Azerbaijan, especially Baku, has a rich historical past that has hosted many different civilizations throughout history. Baku City also houses most of such buildings in a densely built area. Problems of reconstruction of architectural monuments as part of cultural heritage are relevant for all the countries. This research aims to analyze philosophically and culturally the state of modern museums and the current trends in their development. For understanding and identifying some future directions of how to reuse an extant building as a museum in a successful way and still maintain the importance of these historic buildings, this research focuses sprecifially focuses on the adaptive reuse priciples and the ideas related to the needs of present-day museology.
