Reflections of old Greek plays to the ancient art

The subject of this master's thesis is the depictions in other branches of art of the periods when Ancient Greek theater plays were written and performed. Literature reviews about the origin and development of the theater were carried out, the texts of the plays that suvived to the present day were examined and a classification was made by researching the descriptions of the plays on the archaeological materials. In this study, the relationship between play texts and other branches of art has been revealed. The process of Ancient Grecee from the period when the theater emerged to the period when it took its final form has been discussed in terms of literary, political and socio-cultural aspects. Its reflections on other branches of art were not limited to Attica, and it was seen that it spread to a wider geography in terms of iconography.
