Abstract (EN)

Water is an one of the important factor to continue the vital activities of living organisims. Water quality shows the status of the related to determined use of water resources and water mass. While the relationship among physical, chemical and biological parameters examined in water quality and water quality index is generated because of the difficulties of the parameters in different unit. Water quality index (WQI) was developed in 1965 by Horton with using the pH, coliform, conductivity, alkalinity, chloride, dissolved oxygen datas. In this study, the surface water samples were taken from six ponds in Eskişehir in 2013-2014 seasonally and temperature (surface and bottom temperature) pH, turbidity, fecal coliform, dissolved oxygen, biochemical oxygen demand, total phosphate, total nitrate and total solids were analyzed in the water samples. Water quality index was calculated with NSFWQ (National Sanitation Foundation Water Quality Index) and evaluated ecologically.
