Abstract (EN)

Due to World's total energy consumed in 21.5% residental and 18.6% commercial building, in the framework of sustainable environment and non-renewable energy resource conservation, 'building energy performance' and 'passive design criteria', directly affecting building envelope, is important. In this study the effect of passive design criteria, such as orientation, window wall ratio and glass type, on energy efficiency investigated for office buildings, located in commercial building stock and consumed 50% energy in HVAC and lighting systems. Calibrated model obtained with an annual measured and calculated data of indoor temperature and heating energy verified for selected sample building, Department of Industrial Engineering Academic and Administrative Staff Building block in Anadolu University. 'Reference energy consumption' calculated by defined alternative orientations and window wall ratios on calibrated model. After calculated 'heating and cooling energy consumption of alternative glass types' by defined alternative glass types on these models and these calculations compared with 'reference energy consumption'. As a result of proposed 'in both the inner and outer panes that provide temperature control in high thermal conductivity resistance with low-e coated triple glass' and 'providing solar control in high solar heat gain coefficient with low-e coated on outer pane and temperature control in high thermal conductivity resistance with low-e coated on inner pane triple glass' to ensure optimum total heating-cooling energy consumption related with orientations and window wall ratios for new office building will be built in Eskişehir and "Architectural design decision support mechanism" created to put forward these glasses payback periods.
