Abstract (EN)

Manis have been among the products of anonymous folk literature as the oldest genre of the folk poetry tradition and the most beloved genre by Turkish society. Manis, one of the important carriers of oral culture, offers very useful information in the process of recognizing and analyzing the folk poetry tradition and the cultural environment of the society thanks to the accumulation brought by the centuries-long development process. The aim of our study is to compile and classify the place of Eskisehir Manis in the Turkish tradition and to put forth its current situation and its effects on the social structure and tradition. Our study consists of three main sections and sub-headings of these sections. In the introductory title, information is given about the content, purpose and methods of the research. In the first part, the title of "Characteristics of the Research Region" was given and the historical, geographical, economic and cultural structure of the research region was introduced. The second section is titled as "Mani Types and Mani Studies". Here, Mani is defined as a notion and lexis. The sources, origin and formation of manis as a genre are emphasized; The place and meaning of Mani in historical documents was tried to be determined. Following the introduction of Mani in terms of meaning, form, language, style and subject, previous studies on the research content were included. The third section is titled "Eskişehir Mânileri" (Manis of Eskişehir). The manis that were compiled in the study region were analyzed in respect to their verses, rhymes, numbers of verses and nazim order. Eskişehir manis are classified according to their subjects. Our study ended with the "conclusion and evaluation", "references", " manis compiled in Eskişehir ", under the title of source persons and compiled mani scripts.
