Abstract (EN)
Due to its geographical location migration has been a usual and customary phenomenon for Turkey in every period of history. The effects of the Arab Spring, which erupted in 2010, spread to Syria in 201 resulted in civil war. Later, with the intervening of international actors, it became a global issue and turned into one of the most asylum seeker creating social events in modern history. As a result of these events of Syrians who fled the civil war took refuge in neighboring Turkey, which is a great part in or used as a transit country for migration to Europe. In this study, the effect of entrepreneurship on the adaptation processes of Syrians was analyzed by evaluating the data obtained from the Syrians who had chosen being entrepreneur from Syrians under Temporary Protection. In the selection of the subject of study, less research is done on Syrian refugees and harmonization processes compared to other subjects. In this context, in-depth interviews were conducted with 32 Syrians, including 30 tradesmen, in 3 districts of Hatay (Kırıkhan, Reyhanlı and Antakya). In the light of the data obtained, the sub-problems suggested were evaluated. The study also received support from the TÜBİTAK Project titled 'A New Perspective on Adaptation and Adaptation Processes of Urban Refugees: Inclusive Social Building Experiment for Inclusive Urban Construction'. The study was carried out within the scope of this project and other data obtained within the scope of the project were also used. As a result of the study, it has been revealed that Syrian people, both personal and institutional relations with the host country, develop more easily, because of the cultural and historical background of the province of Hatay regionally, and the importance of symbolic capital and social networks in making an entrepreneurship decision.
