Abstract (EN)

ABSTRACT THE EFFECT OF SUMMER CONDITIONS ( HEAT and HUMUDITY) On THE SPERM CHARACTERISTICS IN MEAT TYPE COCK In this study, commercial meat type parent stocks of four different genotypes were used. It was aimed to measure the effect of genotype, seasonal variations of temperature and humidity or total heat of air on several sperm characteristics such as semen volume, sperm density, dead sperm percentage, motility and metilene blue reduction time. As a result, it was observed that the season wasto be effective on total sperm characteristics, and increase in the total heat in summer season with age affected sperm quality negatively. Genotype is also effective on sperm quality which was found higher in Domestic (YG) and Naked Neck Genotypes (ÇB) than those in PM3 and Ross308 (R308) genotypes.
