Abstract (EN)

Aluminum alloys are widely used in the industry with their mechanical and physical properties such as strength, durability, hardness. However, with the development of technology, there is an expectation that casting qualities will be continuously improved. Within the scope of the thesis, the effects of the addition of vanadium element at different rates to Etial 160 aluminum alloy on liquid metal cleanliness, fluidity, microstructure and mechanical properties were investigated by conducting experimental studies. In the studies conducted, Etial 160 alloy was cast and castings were made in permanent molds with the addition of V at the rates of 0.03%, 0.05% and 0.1%, and test samples were obtained and tests were applied. In the experiments, the effects of the addition of V on the characteristic properties affecting Etial 160 alloy were investigated. Casting molds; RPT (Reduced Pressure Test), K-Mold mold, mechanical test mold, 4-channel fluidity and spiral fluidity mold with different section thicknesses were preferred. In the examined results, the liquid metal advance distances increased with the addition of V and it had a positive effect on fluidity. In the mechanical test results, the tensile stress increased from 170 MPa in the Etial 160 sample to 338 MPa in the sample with 0.1% V addition. The elongation was 2.72% in the Etial 160 sample and increased up to a maximum of 6.37% in the sample with 0.1% V addition.
