Occupational health and safety in Etibakır Küre Underground works at height

The mining industry is one of the highest risk sectors for high loss of life and work accidents all over the world because of being labor-based line of work In this study, in Etibakır A.Ş. Küre Underground Operations the risk of working at height, the awareness level of workers and awareness-raising of them, the usage of suitable machine for the job, the knowledge level of workers about the right of refusing the job in inappropriate condition and environment for the job and the attitude of supervisors about it, the given importance to occupational safety by the employer and employer representatives have been examined with observing. Within the scope of study; working at height, past accidents and near misses with different lines of work and machines in different regions and locations are evaluated. In consequence of the work done, the coordinated work of OHS unit and OHS unit supervisors and the state controlled work on OHS are seen promising.
