From the poi̇nt of ethi̇cs, the problem of "Self-awareness" i̇n the phi̇losophy of Sokrates and Platon

The question of "self-awareness" has been one of the subject areas, which is pretty much appeared in the history of philosophy. The notion of "self-awareness" has an important part in the philosophy of Socrates and Plato as well. In this research paper, the question of "self-awareness" or "self-awareness" as a notion, is aimed to be understood in the way of Plato and Socrates' philosophy. In order to see more comprehensively the area of the question of "self-awareness" in this philosophy; virtues, which have an important place in the philosophy of Plato and Socrates and the terms of "good" and "happiness", which also have a significant part in this philosophy have been researched. Additionally, relationships set up between these terms and "self-awareness" have been studied. Moreover, the terms which may have been thought near-synonymous to the notion of 'self-awareness' have been dealt with. In this respect, the point of the term of "self-awareness" in this philosophy area has been researched, and also the relation between "self-awareness" and the terms which are thought to basic in the philosophy of Plato and Socrates, has been clearly put forward. In the course of research, relations set up between the notion of "self-awareness" and the terms like happiness, good, wisdom, courage, justice, temperance have been considered as important and analyzed in details. All these relations has provided this research to be more significant. To sum up, it has been deduced that in the philosophy of Socrates and Platon, the notion of "self-awareness" is a function that makes sense of man's life, provides man's questioning his life, provides important criteria for man's development on the basis of progress and goal in life. Besides; self-awareness, in the mean of ethics for man's finding out the property of being a superior creature, has confronted us as a notion of having a feature of being a mean.
