Doç. Dr. Çetin BEKTAŞThe purpose of this study was to determine how well the companies could act uponthese ethics codes in their competition strategies no matter what their ethics codes are. In thisrespect, the attitudes of the companies traded in Istanbul Stock Exchange were investigated.In order to deal with the ethic and competition-related terms in detail, the first part ofthe study was set up under the headings of ?ethic, business ethic and ethic codes?. In thesecond part, the concept of competition was dealt with by investigating its definition,importance, different approaches to it and its benefits. The focal point of the study,competition strategies were looked into in this part; and here, three main approaches; Porter?scompetition strategy approach, resource-based approach and game theory approach werementioned. In the third part where the effects of ethical codes on the preference of thestrategies, competition ethic and competition culture were investigated for the purpose ofevaluating the togetherness of the concepts of ethic and competition. Moreover, threeapproaches to competition strategies were evaluated by being taken into the framework ofethic. In the fourth part, the answer to the above-mentioned question is given. Data obtainedfrom the questionnaire was evaluated by ?SPSS? program package and their comparativeanalysis was performed.
