Eugene Ysayae's technique and the innovations he brought to violin technique in the context of the 4th solo sonata op. 27

This study aims to analyse the varied structure, virtuosity and musicality of the solo violin sonata Op. 27 No. 4 by Eugene Ysaye, a seminal figure in the history of violin performance and composition. The objective of this study is to analyse the varied structure, virtuosity and musicality of the solo violin sonata Op. 27 No. 4 by Eugene Ysaye, a leading violinist and composer in the history of the violin. It was deemed more appropriate to describe Ysaye's music by analysing the teachers and composers who were influential in shaping his musical language. This approach was taken in order to gain greater insight into the evolution of his music from its Baroque and Romantic roots to the border of modernism. In addition, the works he integrated into his life and those dedicated to him, with the 4th Solo Sonata in particular, were also considered. In the Fourth Solo Violin Sonata, the techniques employed by the right and left hands are delineated, and Ysaye's contributions to musical interpretation and violin technique with these techniques are elucidated. Furthermore, the impact of Ysaye's contributions to music during his own era and beyond have been discussed.
