Abstract (EN)
In Germany, different organisations provide services for migrants in line with different missions, theories and understandings. Diakoni is one of these social service institutions. The Protestant sect of Christianity set out with an evangelical perspective, institutionalised over time and turned into a professional nature and organisation. Since the main axis of the study is the spiritual and material support offered to immigrants in Germany, the conceptual framework related to the content of the thesis is drawn in the first chapter. In the second chapter, the texts of Evangelism and Christianity and national and international academic works on Evangelism and Diakonia from the beginning to the present day have been examined through a literature review. The third chapter provides information on the method, importance, subject and purpose of the research. In the fourth chapter, the findings obtained from the field study are evaluated. In the research, the functioning of the Diakoni organisation, which has a worldwide size in terms of social service practice, its theological infrastructure and social service practices for immigrants are evaluated. The implementation of the financial, technical and moral support offered was analysed. The services provided were evaluated in terms of service recipients and service providers. The functionality of the services was analysed and positive and negative aspects were determined. The services offered to migrants were analysed from the perspective of social work. In order to verify the hypotheses put forward, answers were sought with qualitative methods. A concrete example showing the relationship between social work science and religion is presented and the Diakoni institution is also examined in the context of spiritual social support. The functioning of the Diakoni institution is examined through literature review and observation method. The communication and interaction between refugees/migrants who request support from the Diakonie institution and the experts providing services, the provision of services and interviews with migrants are analysed with a phenomenological design approach. The access of migrants to the services provided, the attitudes of Diakoni social workers while providing social services and the positive and negative aspects of these processes are discussed.
