Abstract (EN)
This study was conducted as a descriptive and correlational study to determine the relationship between perceived parental relationships, irrational beliefs in romantic relationships and marital satisfaction of married individuals. The sample of the study consisted of 300 married individuals living in the Central District of Aksaray Province and meeting the inclusion criteria. The research data were evaluated with SPSS-27 program. There was a positive correlation between the mean scores of Disinterested Attitude, one of the sub-dimensions of the PPRS-Mother Form, and IRBS total and Thinking Differently, Gender Differences and Social Time Use. There was a positive correlation between the mean scores of the Dependent Attitude sub-dimension and IRBS total and Physical Proximity and Social Time Use. There was a positive correlation between the mean score of the Indifferent Attitude sub-dimension, one of the sub-dimensions of the PPRS-Father Form, and the IRBS total score and the sub-dimensions of Thinking Differently. There was a negative correlation between the mean score of the Indifferent Attitude sub-dimension of the PPRS-Mother Form and the mean score of the total score of the MLS, and a positive correlation between the mean scores of the Protective and Democratic Attitude sub-dimensions. A negative correlation was found between the mean scores of Disinterested Attitude, one of the sub-dimensions of the PPRS-Father Form, and the mean scores of Protective, Democratic and Dependent Attitudes. It was found that Thinking Differently, Gender Differences and Physical Intimacy, and Excessive Expectations predicted negatively and positively, respectively, and that the independent variables explained 26% of the mean score of the MLS. According to the results of this study, it is thought that it is important to expand family counseling practices for individuals who will get married and to increase the family counseling skills of mental health nurses.
