Abstract (EN)

The recognition of foreign decisions under Turkish law is basically done within the framework of the International Private Law and Procedural Law Act. With the provision of Article 27/A added to the Civil Registration Law in 2017, important innovations have occurred in terms of Turkish recognition law. Article 27/A provides that it is regulated that the foreign judicial or administrative authority's decisions regarding the dissolution of the marriage will be examined and registered by the application commissions to be established. In this thesis study, the reforms brought by the provision of Article 27/A were examined and the quality of this opportunity was evaluated. In line with the conditions stipulated in Article 27/A and the Regulation issued on the basis of this provision; the application conditions and application procedure are explained and the possible drawbacks of this regulation are explained to the extent possible. In our opinion, with the regulation of Article 27/A, a great convenience has been provided for our citizens living abroad and the workload of the Turkish courts has been reduced to some extent. Considering the functioning of this opportunity in practice, it is understood that an important and appropriate arrangement has been made.
