Abstract (EN)
In this study, conceptual approaches on marriage-like cohabitation models in the world and in Turkey are discussed in order to understand how women experience marriage-like cohabitation models. Throughout the study process, feminist law perspective was used in terms of theoretical approach. In this context, in the study, in which the qualitative research method was used, in-depth interviews were conducted with ten women, taking the phenomenological research design and feminist perspective into account. In order to determine how women interpret marriage-like cohabitation models, women's narratives were evaluated around the research questions. As a result of the data obtained through the interviews, three main themes were determined. These themes were classified as the reasons for preference of marriage-cohabitation models, the relationship between marriage and marriage-like cohabitation models, and the social aspects of marriage-like cohabitation models. The way these relationships were experienced by the participants has been examined from a feminist perspective. The findings of the study highlight the importance of previous marriage experience as one of the main reasons for choosing marriage-like cohabitation models. Changes in education and economic conditions cause women to perceive and experience gender roles differently in their marriage-like cohabitation relationships. As a matter of fact, unless there is a fundamental regulation in the fields of law and social security, women have the risk of victimization in their relationships with their partners. Keywords: Marriage, Marriage-Like Cohabitation Models, Feminist Law.
