Women moving from Turkey to Switzerland through marriage and their integration process

In the study, the experiences of women who migrated from Turkey to Switzerland through marriage, their adaptaion to the host country, and their social communication process were examined from a feminist perspective. In the literatüre, these women are often referred to as "import brides," while in this study, the term migrant women is preferred from a feminist viewpoint. Conducted as a qualitative study, this research was carried out using a case study design over a 9-month ethnographic process in 9 cantons of Switzerland. The researcher employed interview and observation techniques, and in-depth interviews were conducted with 38 participants reached through the snowball samplimg technique. These interviews took place in participants homes, garden, workplace, mosque associations, the researcher's home, and predominantly outdoor settings. The data collected during the research process was analyzed by the researcher. The findings indicate that language change, chages in life due to marriage, cultural adaptation, and other Dynamics are significant factors in the migration process of Turkish migrant women. The importance of social support deficiencies, environmental adaptation difficulties, and adaptation to social norms was also identified. Additionally, emotioanl challenges, beign away from famäly ties, diploma equivalency issues, and language barriers also affect their efforts to organize their new lives. This research provodes significant insights into understanding the experiences of migrant women and highlighting the challenges the face.
