Social injustice İn Faik Baysal's Novels

Faik Baysal produces works in the social realist line in Turkish Literature of the Republican period and comes to the fore with his novels and stories. He gained a place among the novelists who wrote social realistic works with the novels he published between 1944 and 2002. Baysal, who told about the village and its realities in his first novel published in 1944, later he examined the negative effects of World War II on society. Subsequently, he writes about the struggle of people in the urban environment. With his first novel, Sarduvan, published in 1944, and the five novels he wrote afterwards, he examines the conflicts between classes such as lord-peasant, rich-poor, oppressor-oppressed, and discusses the flawed aspects of society in his novels. He occasionally touches on villages and village problems, the loneliness of the individual in urban life, the negative living conditions brought about by the war environment, and on a general scale, he associates all of these problems with the reality of social injustice. In this research, the conflicts of oppressor-oppressed, rich-poor, landlord-peasant in Faik Baysal's novels were examined on the axis of social injustice. Especially based on Baysal's six novels, an attempt has been made to explain the unfair order through types and characters. Then, social realism and village institutes were emphasized, and the socio/cultural structure of the period was also discussed. In our research, the reality of social injustice in Baysal's novels was examined within the framework of individual/society.
