Abstract (EN)

The main purpose of this study is to test the validity of consumer tendency / behavior towards interest-free financing models according to Planned Behavior Theory (PBT). Moreover, the study is to test the validity of the hypotheses relating to consumer tendency to the need for interest-free financing in Turkey, as well as the studies conducted in the countries inhabited by Muslim population according to PBT. For this reason, the main variables of the theory such as attitude, subjective norm and perceived behavioral control variables were redefined according to the related the literature. These variables were analyzed via chi-square test by including them in the questionnaire sections. Subsequently, the relevant sections of the questionnaire were analyzed according to the Cronbach's Alpha test. According to the results of the study with a total of 235 people, the attitude variable, one of the variables of PBT, determined the consumer behavior towards interest-free financing models. In addition, the "interest avoidance" factor, which defines the subjective norm variable, predicts consumer behavior towards these financing methods. However, according to chi-square test, subjective norm and perceived behavioral control variables did not give consistent results. In addition to this, a similar study has not been observed in the literature on consumer behavior models using interest-free financing for PBT specifically in Turkey sample. Therefore, it is possible to say that the study is original.
