Abstract (EN)

SUMMARYAfter the correction of cyanotic congenital heart diseases, improvement of thehematologic parameters has been established. However, there is no study in the literaturespesifically about the tetralogy of Fallot (TOF) and the hematologic parameters of TOFpatients, studied with tromboelastography before and after the surgery. In this study; we haveexamined the progress of the hematologic parameters after the total correction of TOF byusing the routine laboratory tests and tromboelastography.10 children between 18-84 months, are included to this study during january 06 andoctober 06. Preoperative and postoperative first day blood samples are taken from thepatients. Some abnormal results were found by tromboelastography which could not be identifiedby the classical test at To. In INTEG; R parameter got longer in 9 patients, K parameter gotlonger in 9 patients whereas alpha parameter decreased in 8 patients. R and K parameters gotlonger and alpha parameter decreased in 8 patients. In EXTEG R parameter got longer in 9patients. At T1, classical coagulation parameters got longer where as K and alpha parametersof tromboelastography got better. As a result; some abnormalities in coagulation factors and platelet functions of TOFpatients have found by tromboelastography. At T1, abnormalities have been established byclassical coagulation tests where tromboelastography demonstrate the improvement of theplatelet and coagulation parameters.
