The idea of crossing large spans with a lightweight and column-free construction system has always attracted the attention of designers and engineers. As a result of the search for light and aesthetic solutions in building elements and design technologies, different carrier systems, including dome lattice systems, have been developed. Under the behavior constraints of these systems, geometric parameters are taken as design variables and different design results are achieved. In this thesis, a dome system model was developed by taking Ribbed and Schwedler dome systems, which are the most common dome cage system applications, as a reference. In addition to its strength, it has been subjected to parametric study in order to be economically effective. The created dome system was derived as 72 different models by using different parameters and design methods, such as the use of honeycomb beams instead of solid-body beams, and the analysis, design and cost results obtained from these models were compared. As a result, it is aimed to find a simple and applicable dome system that provides economic and strength conditions. All analyzes in the study were made with the SAP2000.V22 program, and the design phase was done manually as well as the SAP2000.V22 program. In the cost study, models were established with the Tekla V20 program, and the net material list was obtained, based on material weights and unit prices. After obtaining the analysis results for different models, the design and economy of the dome cages were evaluated by making comparisons.
