Abstract (EN)

Self-Compacting Concrete (SCC) is a very workable concrete with good compatibility without vibrations and can flow without segregation and any defects due to bleeding. SCC offers a fast concrete placement with faster construction times and ease of flow around narrow reinforcement bars. In addition, SCC has been proven to be economically beneficial by reducing manpower at the construction site. SCC provides better surface appearance, improved durability and greater independence in design. In this study, the workability hardened concrete and durability properties of SCC produced with different aggregate origin were investigated. For this purpose, the natural aggregate and crushed stone aggregate in dimension with 0-4 mm 4-12 mm are used as fine and coarse aggregate respectively. The fly ash and marble dust were used as mineral additives in SCC mixtures with CEM I 42.5 R Portland cement and BASF Glenium RMC 303 as super plasticizer. Workability properties and hardened concrete properties were determined on the designed SCC mixtures. For this reason, V-funnel, L-box, and J-ring tests were performed on fresh SCC mixtures in order to determine the flowability, passing ability and segregation risk parameters. Then, the effect of natural aggregate and crushed stone aggregates on the mechanical properties, alkali silica reaction, sulphate effect, freeze-thaw resistance, abrasion resistance of the produced specimens were determined. According to test results, it is found that the natural aggregate mixtures are more workable, on the other hand the hardened concrete properties are similar both of crushed stone aggregate and natural stone aggregate and the durability properties is better for the natural aggregate mixtures. when the properties of hardened concrete are examined, it is found that crushed stone aggregate mixtures and natural aggregate produced mixtures give close results to each other and when the retention properties are investigated, it is found that natural aggregate mixtures give better results. As seen from test results, it was found that natural aggregates are beneficially effect the workability of SCC mixtures.
