Abstract (EN)

Pile foundations are applied in cases where shallow foundation application is not possible due to insufficient bearing capacity of the soil layers near the surface, the structure is sensitive to total settlements or the load from the superstructure is large. Within the scope of this thesis, a sample application in the province of Trabzon has been examined. Since the ground on the surface where the service building will be built is insufficient in terms of bearing capacity, it was decided to construct piles, which is a deep foundation type. The geographical location, geological structure and seismicity of the study area were mentioned and field and laboratory tests were carried out to obtain the parameters in the application area. In this study, three different analyzes were made by changing the diameter and spacing of the existing piles while keeping the length constant. The analyzes were made using the finite element method and the analysis results were compared and interpreted in terms of total settlement value. It has been seen that the smaller diameter but smaller spacing piles give a higher settlement value than the larger diameter but larger spacing piles, and keeping the pile diameter constant and increasing the pile spacing increases the total settlement amount. As a result of the analyzes made, it was determined that the optimum solution was formed when the pile spacing and diameter values in the applied project were used.
