Abstract (EN)

In this study; in addition to daylight, the effects of LED lighting of different wavelengths (color) on some behavioral, morphological and physiological parameters of Budgerigars (Melopsittacus undulatus) were investigated. The study was carried out in Kırşehir Ahi Evran University, Faculty of Agriculture, Department of Animal Science, Animal Physiology and Histology Lab. The study was planned as 4 groups, 3 birds in each group, and the birds in the groups were fed with species-specific feed as ad libitum. At the end of the study; Compared to the control group, it was observed that red lighting caused birds to prefer high perches, exhibit active and curious behavior towards unfamiliar objects, and increase water consumption and rest periods, while blue color lighting increased comfort and social behavior, water, beak stone and feed scattering. In addition, it was determined that yellow lighting was effective in choosing the color that the birds were under the influence of, and the application of three colors positively affected the relative and wavy asymmetry, unlike the control group. As a result, it has been concluded that the positive results of LED lighting in addition to daylight can be used in aquaculture to prevent negative effects such as stress and obesity, especially blue LED lighting can be used to increase the social and comfort behavior of budgerigars, to increase the vocalization abilities of the birds, and there is a need for new studies on this subject Keywords: Melopsittacus undulatus, LED Lighting, Light Wavelength, Colors
