Investigations of the effect of different dienophiles on dye properties

In this study, reactive diluents were synthesized by Diels-Alder reactions of three different dienophil species with methacryloxypropyl trimethoxysilane (MAS), 2,2,2-trifluoroethyl methacrylate (TFEM), triallil ether acrylate (TAEA) and safflower. The synthesized reactive diluents were mixed with different proportions of soybean oil based alkyd resin, wetting and drying agents to produce twelve different dye formulations. The thermal, structural, viscoelatic and mechanical properties of the dye samples were analyzed by thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), scanning electron microscope (SEM), dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and Universal material testing, and viscosity. film properties such as drying time, degree of adhesion, film thickness and gloss were tested.
