The effect of different planting densities on yield and quality of oregano (Origanum onites L.)

In this study, the effects of 3 different row spacing (20, 40 and 60 cm) and in- rows (10, 20 and 30 cm) on İzmir Oregano (Origanum onites) were investigated in the ecological conditions of Eskişehir in 2021-2022. The study was carried out in Eskişehir Forest Nursery experimental field. The experiment was set up in randomized blocks according to the split plot design with 2 factors and 3 replications and plant height, fresh herb yield, dry herb yield, dry leaf yield, essential oil ratio and essential oil yield parameters were examined. Two cuttings were made in 2022 and the average plant height was 33.24 cm, the highest total fresh plant yield per decare was 4.908,30kg/da, total dry herb yield per decare was 1442,50 kg/da, total dry leaf yield per decare was 773,45kg/da and total essential oil yield per decare was determined as 28,10 L/da at 40 cm row spacing and 10 cm in-row distance. The highest essential oil ratio was determided %3,79 at 40 cm row spacing and 20 cm in-row distance. Keywords:Plant height, fresh and drug herb yield, dry leaf yield, essential oil ratio and yield
