Comparative investigation of the effect of cutting taken from different ecologies on seedling yield and quality

Abstract (EN)
In this study, it was aimed to investigate the yield and quality in seedlings grafted with scions taken from different ecologies. For this purpose, scions of 'Superior Seedless' and 'Bronx Seedless' grape varieties grown in Manisa, Erzincan and Tokat provinces were grafted onto 1103 P rootstock grown in Manisa province and sapling production was carried out. The study was carried out in the lands of Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University, Faculty of Agriculture and Application-Research Center in 2023-2024 according to the split plots experimental design. Least significant difference (LSD) method was used to determine the different means. In the study; Erzincan (%66.1) was found statistically significant in terms of first size sapling according to the provinces, while Tokat 'Bronx Seedless' (%67.0) and Erzincan 'Superior Seedless' (%68.3) were found statistically significant in terms of province x variety interaction. Shoot length according to the provinces was 21.1 cm (Erzincan) and 19.3 cm (Tokat); shoot diameter varied between 3.72 mm (Manisa) and 3.40 mm (Tokat). The highest root length was observed in the cuttings taken from Manisa province (15.5 cm), while the highest root development was observed in the cuttings taken from Erzincan province (4.0). As a result of the study, better callus development, higher first size seedling yield and higher total sapling yield were observed in the cuttings belonging to grape varieties grown in partially cold climates.
