Abstract (EN)

The main purpose of this study is to investigate how different epoxy types affect cyanate ester curing kinetics, rheological and mechanical properties. First of all, PT30 phenol novalac cyanate ester was picked due to their high Tg value and superior mechanical properties and for the blends four different epoxy resins was taken; standart (two function) epoxy resin, phenol novalac epoxy, tetrafunctional epoxy and bisphnol A epoxy. It is predicted that the selected epoxy resins will show curing rates above 90% without need for other chemicals, such as 'hardener', in the curing reaction of the cyanate ester. First, the rheological effects of these four different epoxy resins on the cyanate ester were determined by rotational rheometry. DSC experiments were carried out in parallel with the viscosity determination and the kinetics of the mixtures prepared with the obtained data were emphasized. At the same time, Tg values were measured with DMA experiments and how cyanate ester affected high Tg values was measured.
