Abstract (EN)

Desensitizing agents which have different chemical structures, are used to minimize the hypersensitivity of dentin which often occur because of the reasons such as abrasion, fracture, gingival problem and preparation. However, these agents have different effects on the bond strength of the adhesive resin cements to dentin. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of different desensitizing agents on the bond strength of adhesive resin cement to dentin. 70 dentin specimens obtained from human molars were used in this study. Four different desensitizing agents ( Teethmate, Shield Force Plus, UltraEZ and Admira Protect Desensitizers) were applied and 3 mm in diameter and 2 mm height adhesive resin cement ( Panavia V5, Kuraray Notrike, Japan) applied on dentin. The samples were tested in a universal shear testing machine with a cross head speed of 0,5mm/min. The data were analyzed by using the Kruskal Wallis H and Mann Whitney U tests for multiple comparison (p˂0.01). The highest level of shear bond strength of all groups was seen in the group on which Shield Force Plus was used (p<0.01). Admira Protect increased the bond strength according to UltraEZ and control groups (p<0.01). There was no statistically significant difference between the groups applied to Admira Protect and Teethmat Desensitizers (p>0.01). The difference between the shear bond values Teethmate, UltraEZ and control groups were not statistically significant (p>0.01). According to the results of the study, resin based desensitizing agent was increased the bond strength of the adhesive resin cements to dentin. Calcium phosphate, potassium nitrate and fluoride containing agents did not affect the connection resin cement to dentin.
