Abstract (EN)

SiAlON ceramics are using in advanced technology areas including mechanic, chemistry, metallurgy, optic, automotive and defense industry which require particularly high temperature and resistance due to their physical, chemical and mechanical properties. In addition, during the production of SiAlON ceramics, for densification La, Ce, Nd, Sm, Er, Yb, Lu used as the sintering additives. Sintering additives have different effects on creep and oxidation behavior of SiAlON ceramics. In this study, effects of different sintering additives to the oxidation behavior of SiAlON cramics are investigated. For this purpose, creep and oxidation tests applied during 1400°C and 72 hour to SiAlON ceramics which containing different sintering additives, heat treated and untreated. Identification, distribution and growing mechanism of crystals formed after oxidation determined by Electron Backscattter Diffraction Technique (EBSD), Energy Dispersive X-Ray (EDX), Wavelength Dispersive X-Ray, X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) and Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM) techniques. Also, the effects of different sintering additives, creep tests and heat treatment on oxidation behavior of SiAlON ceramics studied with these techniques
